Interview:
The International Rescue Committee's, Rick Brennan, discusses his findings from a study recently published in the British Medical Journal, Lancet, titled, "Mortality in the Democratic Republic of Congo: A Nationwide Survey." He speaks about the direct and indirect consequences leading to death in Eastern Congo, changes in mortality rates over time, and the social infrastructure that exists today. Senior Analyst at the International Crisis Group, Jason Stearns provides a political and historical analysis of the current situation in the Congo. He also talks about the presence of foreign militaries in the region, upcoming elections, and the lack of international response. [24:48]
